Abstract

This article derived from research carried out for a master's thesis - presented to the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Amapá (PPGED/Unifap) in 2019. Instigated by the general objective of analyzing whether Popular Environmental Education, as a methodological possibility, can contribute to the problematization of socio-environmental issues on the Igarapé da Fortaleza; the research was conducted by the historical and dialectical methods and was based on a qualitative approach. Among the results, the research pointed out that the socio-environmental issues in the Igarapé da Fortaleza result from the disorderly occupation of that space, despite being located in an Environmental Protection Area. In addition, the pedagogical practice carried out with the residents was presented as a viable alternative to reveal situations that are often invisible to the community itself.

Possui graduação em Licenciatura Plena em Letras pela Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP), Bacharelado em Direito pela Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP). Mestrado em Educação  pela Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP). 

Dr Eliana Paixão, Universidade Federal do Amapá - UNIFAP

He has a PhD in Education from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2013), with a thesis on Popular Education in the Freirean approach and a focus on urban socio-environmental issues; Master's degree in Regional Development from the Federal University of Amapá (2008), in the area of ​​Regional Urban Planning, Bachelor's degree in Accounting Sciences from the Amapá Higher Education Center (1994) and holds a Post-Doctoral Internship at the Federal University of Pará. She is a permanent professor at the Federal University of Amapá and the Postgraduate Program in Education. He has experience in the area of ​​Education, with an emphasis on Higher Education Teaching, working on the following topics: Accounting, Environmental Education, use of technology and media in education. He has been an associate member of ANPED since 2020.
