Abstract

The general objective of this article is to analyze discursive productions of members of the academic community of the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. In this way we propose a discussion about the studies on ethnic-racial relations in the curriculum of the Degree Course in Pedagogy, having as central point the anti-racist curricular demands. The research is anchored in the debate held in the field of education for ethnic-racial relations. The Oral History method included a literature review on the theme and interviews that allowed the analysis of competing interpretations and power/knowledge relations. The analysis reveals that although educational public policies are already introduced in the educational field in the country, there are demands for an anti-racist education, where the discussion about the studies of ethnic-racial relations still occurs in optional subjects.
