Relationships between recreational experiences and environmental education

Through environmental recreation, multiple emotional, communicative, physical and cognitive benefits are obtained that have an impact not only on personal development but also on social development, which is reflected in the sense of belonging, respect for the environment. The activities of environmental recreation are carried out in multiple spaces and moments, with various objectives, among which are those linked to environmental education; this research was carried out with the aim of analyzing the narratives of eight environmental recreationists about their experiences in the relationships between environmental recreation and environmental education, through the biographical-narrative method a series of experiences are recovered; the experiences of each informant located as protagonists of their stories related to environmental education are analyzed. Among the results obtained, it stands out that the learning obtained during academic and extra-academic training has allowed them to develop practices in the professional field in a great diversity of contexts and responsibilities: there are those who organize activities for children and adults in public and private schools, as well as in non-formal educational institutions such as zoos, museums and protected natural areas; they are key agents in the transmission of environmental values; in one of the conclusions of the study, it is pointed out that environmental reenactors can incorporate educational tools to improve the relationships between human beings and the environment.
