This study introduces the experiences of two municipal public education systems in the interior of São Paulo in the contexto of the COVID-19 pandemic, which developed educational initiatives to minimise the impacts caused by the suspension of on-site school activities in the stages of social distancing – analysing, among them, the continuous training of teachers as a common pillar in their processes of reorganisation and curricular practice. The utilised methodology comprises documental research and teachers' reports about the training opportunities on offer and curricular activities. Results show that each council has built solutions, in accordance with their specificities, to conduct the necessary practices in Primary Education, outlining diversities and similarities in their educational practices. Training spaces had pivotal importance for collective learning, curriculum restructuring and experience exchange among teachers in this troubled phase experienced by Brazilian educators during the pandemic period, where remote teaching and the use of technologies constituted challenges for them in these municipalities.
