Abstract

Lifelong Education and Learning and its relationship with Youth and Adult Education is the central object of this article. Lifelong Education and Learning and Youth and Adult Education are correlated through a long history of conceptual intersections and the guarantee of the right to education, for different age groups of the population, throughout life. By means of a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, based on documentary and bibliographical review, this paper presents elements ranging from the historical path of Lifelong Education and Learning in the International Conference of Youth and Adults (as know as CONFINTEA) to its different occurrences in regulations from national and international documents. The focus on Lifelong Education and Learning within the scope of Youth and Adult Education is specifically explored after this course of presentation and clarification, with the aim of achieving the result of a current panorama between both concepts, making use of theoretical references of Youth and Adult Education that explored its relationship with Lifelong Education and Learning in the 20th and 21st centuries and representatives and experiences of contemporary implementations of this intersection such as the Marrakech Framework, 2022, and the National Guidelines for Youth and Adult Education, 2021.
